Jasper works as a Risk, Compliance & Security Consultant. After studying Integral Security Studies, in which he studied both physical and digital security issues, Jasper decided to focus his career on strengthening the digital resilience of organisations. At Protify, he supports companies in setting up and improving management systems, with a focus on compliance and information security.
Background and education
His interest in cybersecurity started at a young age, when he considered becoming a detective. During his graduate internship at the Centre for Crime Prevention and Safety (CCV) in Utrecht, he focused on raising cybersecurity awareness among SMEs. He organised conferences and stressed the importance of investing in information security to prevent ‘cheap eventually becoming expensive buy’. This experience reinforced his belief that awareness and practical support are essential for improving digital security within organisations.
Opting for Integral Safety Studies

Adventure in Australia
Before joining Protify, Jasper took a four-month break to enjoy his free time. He travelled to Australia, where he first spent six weeks in Sydney taking an English course. He then travelled to Cairns, where Fraser Island was one of his favourite destinations and he gained impressive experiences.
Why Protify?
Jasper already knew Hans Klijssen; graduation intern at Protify, from Utrecht, where they were following the same studies. Hans talked about Protify with enthusiasm, so he decided to approach them with an open application.
Jasper deliberately chose a smaller organisation over a larger one for his first job. He believes that a smaller organisation can offer him better guidance and a better induction process, which suits him better as a starting professional. Already confirmed in this in the first weeks, Jasper has found the first weeks to be very positive. ‘The structure of the familiarisation programme was immediately clear. After only two weeks, I went along to an internal audit for the first time, so I could immediately see how this works and see the practical application of the knowledge.’
‘The counselling is very intensive, which I find positive! I have already received many sessions and explanations in the first weeks.’
‘The focus now is on ISO 27001 the information security standard. And I am already looking forward to gaining more experience and developing further. After about a year, I will also focus on EN50518 for emergency response centres.’
What are you doing now?
At Protify, Jasper works closely with clients to identify risks, ensure compliance and implement information security. His work revolves around increasing the resilience of organisations against digital threats and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. With his analytical ability and structured approach, he knows how to give organisations insight into their risks and help them comply with laws and regulations, such as ISO 27001 and NIS2.
Jasper combines substantive knowledge with a pragmatic approach, enabling him to reduce complex issues to clear, achievable steps. His goal is to build, together with customers, a solid and future-oriented foundation for information security and compliance.
